I found this project washed up in the tide pool by Kukui Point where driftwood meets volcanic rock. The "Point," a long-forgotten lighthouse, scans its environment with circular sweeps, sticking out like the sore thumbs that build it. Past Thought is this slit of light exposing the defective vision of "tourist beauty" against the negentropic force of an untamable island.The visual composition compiles 3D scans with VHS footage--all captured on the island of Kauai. The results were processed with modular video synthesizers and vintage video editing equipment.
